About Us

In June 2008, the National Public Safety Educator Forum group was formed by

9-1-1 Public Educators eager to begin exploring opportunities in sharing public education ideas with 9-1-1 public safety professionals from across the nation.

NPEF is comprised of 2,200+ members from across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Virgin Islands, and New Zealand.

Each of us has many talents…what better way to collaborate than to build on each others’ expertise?

You can begin sharing by clicking on the “Join” tab above to obtain info about how you can become a member of the public educator's e-mail group. Participation in this group will:

  • allow you to pose questions or ask advice about pub ed (and receive prompt feedback)

  • share or request materials and information to assist you in educating the public about 9-1-1

  • provide you with opportunities to participate in co-op purchases

  • provide information/articles related to pub ed

It’s an exciting time in the 9-1-1 industry and we all have LOTS of work ahead of us preparing for new 9-1-1 technologies and the constant task of educating residents of our region, administrators, and public officials. Just think about all the great ideas and projects occurring from coast-to-coast!

…and one last thought: Margaret Fuller said,

“If you have knowledge, let others light their candle by it.”
